About The Workshop…
Sew a miniature winter wonderland with decorated trees and snowy cottages you will add your own hand sewn Winter characters; snowmen, gingerbread people or even talking baubles. These little scenes can be rearranged to create new tales and have the potential to become family heirlooms brought out each Winter to celebrate the festive season. They make beautiful table decorations or can be used as pincushions.
Create a lovely hand sewn festive scene in a teacup, begin the weekend by making a selection of felt balls ready to embroider and turn into magical figures for your festive scene. Following Kathleen’s guidance and patterns sew the cutest Ginger peeps, snowman, Christmas trees, gingerbread house and more. Each character is attached to a pin so your teacup scene can be transformed into a storyland to enchant generations.

Herefordshire based maker Kathleen Murphy uses needle and thread to create mythologies and curiosities from found materials and stitch. Her work is identified by a strong sense of narrative and through its application of colour and texture. Under the name Murgatroyd & Bean, Kathleen creates colourful, boldly hand stitched curiosities based on her characters from an enchanted woodland, populated by dark-eyed creatures and over sized leaves..
