About your Online course A Whimsical World

A Whimsical World – a new world of stitch ideas, extend your stitch knowledge throughout this online course by following step by step informative video tutorials, each session takes you one step nearer your whimsical world. A playful, quaint scene created from Linda’s imagination inspired by her love of the garden, nature, movement, a touch of romance and a sprinkling of fairy dust. The course is suitable for those who have some experience of embroidery and will expand your skills…. or why not join us just for the ride and an Autumn of stitch to while away the dark nights.

Lots to learn – lots to enjoy, applique, ribbon embroidery, stump work, beading, a wide variety of embroidery stitches including needle weaving. The finished size is 12 inches or 30cm’s square and can be stretched over a canvas or stretched then framed ready to hang.

Starts Monday 26th October 2020, the course is available to view at your leasure until 24th December 2020

The course price is £50 plus the kit £30 a total of £80 which includes full size pattern and postage in the UK

Please sign up in plenty of time so your kit arrives to you ready to start on Saturday 1st November.

 

 

The pattern will be sent out to you with your kit purchase. The video tutorials will be sent to you as links via your email address.

Your kit includes

  • Fabric for your design and muslin to back your fabric
  • Wool mix felt
  • Fabrics for applique
  • Anchor Threads
  • Silk ribbons
  • Beads
  • Wool
  • Freezer paper
  • Full size pattern

In addition to the kit you will need,

  • a light box (or you can use a bright window to trace your pattern)
  • sticky tape, (to tape the fabric to your bright window)
  • tacking thread.
  • paper scissors
  • sharp small fabric scissors
  • Embroidery hoops useful sizes 10″, 8″ or 6″  your piece will be worked both in and out of a hoop.
  • Erasable pen
  • needles, crewel, milliners and beading (in a variety of sizes)
  • Beading mat
  • Sewline glue pen is useful but not essential

Please feel free to add your own threads and beads to make your Whimsical World your own. If you need anything adding to your kit just drop us an email and we can arrange to add it to your delivery.

The course will cover a wide variety of techniques with step by step instructions via online videos, I would suggest you have some basic embroidery skills to complete this piece comfortably, though if you’re willing to have a go there is always plenty of advice at the end of an email.
