What people say about the course

“I learnt so much on this online tutorial with Linda. As a relative beginner it was great to see stitches being demonstrated on the videos, showing how they fitted into the wreath, and I found the colour balance discussion really helpful.”

“During the 2 month lock down in 2020 I participated in the video tutorial run by Linda of Creative Thread in Garstang at this time. The tutorial came at the perfect time and was such a pleasure to participate in. There were over 30 of us in the group, two I know well but by the end I felt I had made friends and learnt so much. That whole experience was a pleasure and is highly recommended to anyone of any ability, who loves stitching, or wants to ‘have a go”

As a complete beginner I wasn’t sure I would be able to complete this project. However the detailed videos and the supportive Facebook group made it possible to complete my wreath. Linda provided a wonderful, supportive environment for people to try something new. Massively enjoyed the experience. Thank you

“Thank you so much for this beautiful project! The tutorials were straightforward and the private Facebook group was a great place to chat and get to know other course participants. My finished wreath is amazing and I definitely want to do more embroidery on the future.”

“This project was well structured and provided an opportunity to relax and learn with a supportive tutor and group of participants. It was lovely to see each others work and to know that Linda was still on hand to advise on any areas of difficulty. The materials pack was great quality, good value and provided a range of colour choices.”

Linda’s calm and methodical tutorials were excellent. Breaking the project down into short achievable steps, a stitch at a time, gave me the confidence and skills to complete it and I’m really happy with the finished work . Thankyou Linda !

I love your embroidery classes! I have done quite a lot of embroidery but there is always something new to learn from a brilliant stitcher who also has excellent teaching skills. Thank you.

“I intend to finish my wreath and have very much enjoyed seeing the other participants’ work on Facebook. Although I have been stitching since I was a child, and had completed City & Guilds Embroidery Level 3, there were a lot of new stitches to learn. I was self-taught embroidery mainly from books, so some of the techniques and tips I did not know. One of the most useful was how to split the threads – I always used to get them in a tangle, but now I know how to do it properly! THANK YOU!”

“I loved the friendly and engaging way that Linda talked and taught via the video tutorials. The videos are great because she shares her knowledge and ideas in such an encouraging way. And she also lets people know that some stitches can be tricky to master and take a bit more patience to get right. With these troublesome stitches, Linda always suggests alternatives that people can try and use. As always Linda is a fabulous tutor. Love stitching along with Linda at her studio or online (although we miss out on the cake/biscuits) online!”

“During lockdown, I found it quite hard to find the motivation to do anything, so this course helped enormously to get me focussed on achieving each stage of the embroidery. I looked forward to receiving each video, which were very clear and helpful, full of information and hints and tips. It was also lovely to see the work of others on the course, and the different colourways and interpretation of the design I would highly recommend such a course, especially if it’s difficult to get into a workshop in the shop, like me, who lives over 200 miles away!”

“The embroidered wreath project was the only useful thing I completed during the lockdown! Linda’s video tutorials were clear and friendly introductions to the different stitches and I enjoyed that she encouraged us to use our own imaginations to interpret her design. I was a completely new embroiderer and I’ll be coming back for more feeling much encouraged.”

“Thank you for your friendly, clear and helpful teaching of this embroidered wreath course. It’s the first course i’ve done online and it’s been a very positive and enjoyable experience and i would certainly do one again.”
