About Your Workshop:
This mono-printing day with expert tuition by textile artist Diane Jones is the perfect day to learn a new technique and explore its possibilities for making beautiful decorative prints.

Your mono prints can be stitched into, framed as they are, made into a book cover or a cushion. You may want to make a series of small prints that can be mounted on card for unique celebration cards… the possibilities are endless!

Mono-Printing Day Workshop with Diane Jones

What Is Mono-Printing?
Mono-print means a single print, a one off, which is unique and cannot be repeated identically.

Learning Curve:
Let Diane inspire you with colour and guide you through the techniques of working on a silk screen; your image can be further developed by over painting, adding details or taking colour away with absorbent tissue.

Experiment with your image by using other mark making tools such as potato stamps, sponges and cotton buds.

The screen will be dried at regular intervals allowing the image to remain stable until ready to print.

This is a great play day and a technique which can be recreated at home with very little equipment.

About Diane:
Diane received a Degree in Art and Design from Bradford College of Art in 1987. Since then she has worked as a freelance designer and maker, selling her work through craft shops /galleries throughout the country.

Diane also runs textile printing workshops in secondary schools and for adult groups.

She largely works with printed textiles using monoprint and devoré techniques to create one-off fabrics from which she makes scarves, wraps, and framed pieces. Diane’s designs reflect her fascination with colour, pattern, light, rhythms and silhouettes found in the natural environment.
