About Your Workshop:
During this four session workshop you will learn the basics of patchwork from how to accurately cut fabrics with a rotary cutter to joining fabrics together to create traditional blocks. These blocks can be combined to create a cushion cover, lap quilt or even a bed quilt!

Learning Curve:
Starting with the basics you will learn how to accurately cut fabrics using patchwork rulers and a rotary cutter. Using your fabric strips Lis will show you how to piece them together to create a range of traditional blocks including nine-patch, half-square triangles and log cabin.

Skill level: Suitable for beginners (machine sewing experience is required).

About Lis:
Lis has been sewing for as long as she can remember – her mother taught needlework and Lis would be given fabric scraps to play with which lead to her creating her own dolls clothes. Lis’s love of all things needlework continued and she enjoyed cross stitch, dress making and soft furnishing. Then in 2006 Lis started patchwork and quilting after spending many years wondering why you would cut fabrics up just to sew them back together again! Since then Lis has completed qualifications in Advanced Patchwork and Quilting, a City and Guild Certificate in Patchwork and Quilting and a City and Guild Diploma. Lis enjoys all aspects of patchwork and quilting including traditional, contemporary, piecing and quilting.
