About Your Workshop:
4 Week Course Learn how to make a stylish yet comfy t-shirt in stretch fabric, there will be the choice of two patterns to work from, one Tilly and the Buttons pattern and a second t- shirt which will be a little more roomy. By the end of the course you will be able to read and understand your pattern markings and instructions. You will improved your sewing skills, learn a few tips to help your dressmaking skills, including how to work with stretch fabric, and have made a lovely t-shirt you feel confident in. We only take 6 students on each dressmaking course so you will get lots of individual attention and help.

Skill Level: Suitable for beginners, sewing machine experience is required. If you are looking for a beginners machine sewing workshop please email Linda.

Learning Curve:

Working with stretch fabric can seem daunting for some of us, on the first week Jenny will bring a selection of different stretch fabrics explain a little about the differences. Find the facts on 2 way stretch verses one way stretch, stretch percentage etc. tips for choosing, cutting, fitting and stitching stretchy knit fabrics.

Advice on which feet to use and the stitches which suit your fabric.

Over lockers will be available to use.

Agnus T-shirt by Tilly and the buttons is an option for you to chose. Our the New Look pattern below, Jenny will help you with an option of lengthening the sleaves, it thats something you prefer.

Our Creative Thread Studio sits above our new shop, at 68b Church Street. We opened on the 21st July 2018,

The studio space offers excellent light to work and air conditioning, comfy chairs and two work surfaces for you. We have ample plug sockets and ironing surfaces, facilities to provide refreshments, a microwave.

However the studio is on the first floor. We can offer to carry your machines and bags up stairs for you.
