Founder, Creative Thread Workshops
Linda Robinson, has been running Creative Thread Workshops for four and a half years.
Having sewn since childhood, initially on her mums beautiful treadle Singer sewing machine, over the years Linda has enjoyed a variety of creative City and Guilds courses followed by Access to HE in a variety of subjects.
Linda studied stitch, print and felt making at Lancaster University and following her degree she acquired her teaching certificate PTLLS (Preparing to Teach in the Life Long Learning Sector). She became a member of the International Felt Makers Association and more recently the Modern Quilt Guild.
Linda has had several projects featured in Stitch Magazine and Sewing World, and has blogged for Toyota Oekaki on Free machine embroidery.
Whilst working with Helen at the Artroom Gallery in Garstang they organised workshops with professional artists and consequently Linda discovered there was a need for a varied program of sewing and textile workshops, which importantly required the highest standard of teaching by professional textile artists…
…so Creative Thread evolved – to inspire you.
Creative Thread Has Grown
In April 2016 Linda and her daughter Rebecca opened Creative Thread Fabric and Sewing Shop, a sewalicious space filled with modern fabric, felting supplies, yarn, patterns, embroidery threads, sewing kits, haberdashery and more.
You can find us at:
Creative Thread, 4 Market Place, Garstang, Lancashire, PR3 1ZA
I have got to say Linda is the most inspiring, approachable, and happy caring tutor ever!
“I came out of the course with a whole bunch of new friends, as well as a completed pincushion and I even had a bash at French knots, a daisy and blanket stitch.
Linda did a demo of each section, we also had a complete hand out including patterns and stitches. The course was friendly and professional …. aims and objectives met. A jolly grand day!”

I shall most certainly be a frequent visitor from now on
“I popped in the shop this morning to buy fabric, thread and buttons. I just had to write to you to tell you how impressed I was with your friendly and helpful staff.
I have lived in the area for the last 12 years and previously had stopped visiting and travelled into Preston or Lancaster for my craft supplies. What a difference this morning! The whole place has come alive, and the 2 ladies were delightful. I shall most certainly be a frequent visitor from now on.
Thank you for making me feel valued today.”
You really have brought great joy into my life
“Linda your workshops bring so much pleasure, fun and enjoyment into people’s lives as well as lots of crafting, artistic and sewing skills.
You really have brought great joy into my life with re-energising my engagement with my crafting side. The last few weeks I have been surrounded by felt, fabric, yarns, buttons, beads and ribbon.”
